Cheryl E. Connors is a partner of Tonneman & Connors, LLC. Ms. Connors focuses her practice exclusively in the area of family law. She is dedicated to achieving fair and equitable results for her clients taking into account her clients’ priorities and needs. As a qualified mediator pursuant to Rule 1:40 and a collaboratively-trained attorney, she takes a client-centered and holistic approach to her cases. Having handled cases ranging from complex, high-net worth matters to high-conflict custody matters to amicable and uncontested matters, Ms. Connors understands the unique challenges faced by clients in family law matters and the need to strategize with her clients to select the most appropriate and effective process given the client’s particular circumstances.



Ms. Connors concentrates on issues of divorce, child custody, visitation/parenting time, child support, equitable distribution, alimony, palimony, paternity, domestic violence, prenuptial agreements, appeals, mediation, and collaborative divorce. Taking an active role in multiple organizations, Ms. Connors is a member of the Family Law Executive Committee, the Family Law Section and the Solo and Small Firm Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association. Ms. Connors serves as a member of the New Jersey Supreme Court Family Practice Committee for the 2017-2019 term. In 2016, Ms. Connors appeared before the New Jersey Supreme Court on behalf of the New Jersey State Bar Association in the matter of In re Adoption of a Child by J.E.V. She is also a member of the Middlesex County Bar Association, Monmouth Bar Association, Collaborative Divorce Professionals of New Jersey, and New Jersey Association of Justice. Ms. Connors serves as a Matrimonial Early Settlement Panelist in Middlesex County, an Intensive Settlement Panelist in Monmouth County and as an Associate Editor on the New Jersey Family Lawyer.  Ms. Connors has received recognition from her peers as she was selected for inclusion in the New Jersey Super Lawyers®"-Rising Stars list in 2011-2017 and received the Martin S. Goldin Family Law Award in 2013 from the Middlesex County Bar Association.



Before forming Tonneman & Connors, LLC, Ms. Connors served as a judicial clerk for the Honorable Barry T. Albin, Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of New Jersey from 2005-2006. She graduated from Cornell University with her Bachelor of Arts degree in 2000 and from Seton Hall University School of Law in 2005, magna cum laude.
